How fixed wireless works

Xplornet is the ideal choice for high-speed Internet service in areas spanning up to 16 kilometers. Our technicians install Xplornet’s compact and streamlined equipment on your premises (home or office) and your system can be up and running in just one day, with no additional software to install.

Relying on Point-to-Multipoint protocol, the AP ‘talks’ to the SMs using clear, consistent, and collision-free communications via radio signals. BH Units ‘talk’ to each other using Point-to-Point protocol. With BH Units installed at the AP and a remote location, you can have a remote Internet feed between you and your subscriber. One AP can provide a 60-degree ‘coverage wedge’ to serve SMs up to 16 km away; and by installing a cluster of six AP units, this coverage is expanded to a full 360 degrees. One AP cluster can serve as many as 1,200 subscribers. It’s simple. As additional clusters are added, the service area becomes broader, and more customers can be served.
